Life’s trials will all be over
when we see Christ.
WE SHALL REIGN WITH HIM
One of the blessings, and a reward, which we shall receive from the Lord is that we shall reign with Him. O what condescension and what grace that we should be accorded such honour! “It’s too good to be true!” And so it is. But God’s Word says so. The Apostle Paul said, “If we suffer, we shall also reign with him…” (2 Tim 2:12).
In the song of the redeemed in heaven, it is written, “…thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth” (Rev 5:9-10). When and how shall this be?
For answers, we turn to Revelation 20:6. “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.” All believers shall be resurrected / transformed at the Lord’s coming (1 Thess 4:16-17; 1 Cor 15:51-52; Phil 3:20-21). This is the first resurrection. These shall then enter the Millennial Kingdom to assist in the administration of the earth which will be populated by the believing survivors of the Great Tribulation and Armageddon.
For 1,000 years we shall reign with the Lord. It will be a redeemed earth (Rom 8:21-23), Paradise restored. As servants of the Lord, we shall be assigned, each according to his faithfulness, to rule over “ten cities” or “five cities” as the case may be (Luke 19:16-19).
When the thousand years are over, our Lord will create a NEW HEAVEN and NEW EARTH! There we shall dwell with Him for ETERNITY! (Rev 21-22)
THOUGHT: What is my life of 70 to 100 years compared to the 1,000-year reign with Christ?
PRAYER: I thank Thee, Father, for revealing to me Thy Plan. May I draw much comfort knowing that Thou hast planned it all. All glory and praise to Thee, Father, in the highest!
