Psalm 37:23

THE STEPS OF A GOOD MAN

Only when one believes in Jesus Christ would God see us as righteous. Otherwise, even all the good deeds that you do will be counted dung because you are not in Christ. Once a person believes and trusts in the Lord, not only is he a good man in God’s eyes, but the Lord will also guide his steps.

When God orders our steps, it means that wherever we go and whatever we do are known and fixed for our good by the almighty and gracious God. Nothing happens by chance. God is in charge and in control of our lives. In fact, God takes delight in all that we do as we become the object of His divine favour. He is concerned for us, in all the trials and joys of our lives.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. So, we trust the goodness of the Lord even though we:

1. fail in our test or examination, because failure makes us lean on God’s wisdom and not on our own.
2. get sick, because in this sinful world there are a lot of germs and bacteria.

Thought: God knows and guides each step that you take.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please order my steps and let me not think that I am wiser or smarter than You in making good decisions in my life. Remind me, Heavenly Father, that the way to peace and happiness is to follow You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
