DECEMBER 2, Genesis 1:1-3

The first two verses of Genesis speak of times and events that existed before the sun was created and before man dwelt on the earth. The subject of it is the beginning of time; it is God’s first work – the creation of the heavens and the earth. The first great fact disclosed to us is that there was a beginning to the heavens and the earth. “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Things did not evolve by themselves. Scientists are not able to explain fully the beginning of life as it is beyond their reach. They do not have divine and supernatural revelation.

It can be calculated that the earth is nearly 6,000 years old. The theory that the earth and the universe are millions of years old is false. Creation is a miracle, and scientific explanations such as the Big Bang theory, where details are largely based on educated guesses, simply cannot explain a miracle. The limitations and flaws of scientific knowledge are exposed by the brilliance of the Creator.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, how mighty Thou art, to make everything good and beautiful. Help me remember that You are the Creator, and that the theories of man about evolution are not true. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
