The church office can be contacted at 6560-3885 to arrange for vigil service, home-going service and support for the bereaved.

When Death Occurs
Effective 29 May 2022, there is no longer a need to register a death at a Neighbourhood Police Post.

When a person passes away to be with the Lord, you will need a Doctor to certify the death.  The Doctor will submit the neccessary information online, at which point, the death will be registered.  The Doctor/hospital will then provide you with:

• Death document number
• Date of death

You may then download the Digital Death Certificate within 30-days of issuance from the Government's "My Legacy" portal by clicking HERE.  You will need the:

• Death document number
• Date of death
• Decased's NRIC, FIN or passport number

If you need help downloading a Digital Death Certificate, you may call 6589-8707 (24-hours daily) or watch the instructional video by clicking HERE.

Once you have the Digital Death Certificate, click HERE to apply for a Permit to Bury/Cremate at the National Environment Agency's portal.  You will need this permit before making a booking for burial/cremation.

Bury or Cremate?

The Bible-Presbyterian Church of Singapore buries their dead.  There is no explicit statement from the Bible that categorically declares we must bury only.  However, like other doctrines, such as the Trinity and Infant Baptism, inferences from the Bible are sufficient to conclude that Christians should be buried after they die.  To read more on this topic, click HERE.
