Ready for the Rapture
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
Many today scoff at the idea of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Yet, this is the Scripture record. Whether the world believes it or not, our Lord will return to earth, and true believers will be taken up as promised in the Bible!
Christian reader, be not unbelieving. Be ye ready for the coming Rapture!
Reinforcing Sound Doctrines in Perilous Times
We are in a spiritual battle with the enemy of our souls. Our Captain wills that each and every one of us fights well and wins! Even though our enemy is a wily and fearsome foe, our Captain is almighty and ever-victorious!
The lies of the enemy abound. The simple believe them as truths. Our ability to discern the multitude of deceptive teachings prevalent today is crucial. Do not be beguiled! Only then can we be effective soldiers for Christ.
This series of messages will examine and shine the light of truth on the falsehoods taught in the majority of churches today and help you grow more discerning.
Victorious Living in Perilous Times
"Perilous" in the original Greek text of the Bible means "dangerous, fierce, furious". This warning from the Apostle Paul is very apt for believers living in today's evil, debauched world swimming in lies, homosexuality, fornication, and adultery.
Satan is doing his utmost to target and entrap Christians in sin, to destroy their witness for Christ. All too often has he succeeded. How often has your heart wept upon hearing someone say they will never accept Christ because of the bad things done or said by a Christian friend, relative, or well-known person?
Do not be a Christian who stumbles others by your life! Be one who helps sinners find the narrow way and enter the narrow gate to everlasting life!
The Jewish People in History and Prophecy
No other people are like the Jews. Numbering a mere 15 million, they excel in fields of human achievement more than any other people.
Only they can claim their roots in God. Only they have suffered systematic genocide through thousands of years - and survived! Only the Jews have revived as a nation after 2,000 years of global diaspora. God the son, was incarnated as a Jew, Jesus Christ, who even now is interceding for us from Heaven on the right hand of God. Only to the Jewish people was it said, "Salvation is of the Jews."
Learn more about these amazing people and nations by which God's redemptive work for mankind's restoration originates.
A Testimony founded for God's Glory
"...the day of Christ is at hand. Let noman deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first..." 2 Thessalonians 2:2-3
Too many churches and Christian movements started on a vibrant biblical note, only to fossilise into mounments. At best, they are now godly only in name but no longer contending for the faith; at worse, the synagogues of Satan, teaching and preaching heresies as the Word of God.
The Bible-Presbyterian movement, founded 70-years ago, has not been spared from the prophesied falling away. But thank God for His faithfulness and goodness in keeping a remnant in the way of truth and righteousness as a testimony for God's Glory.
The battle for the faith and the testimoney of Jesus Christ rages on, fiercer than ever. The signs of the return of Christ are crying out all around us to awaken and number our days, for the Day of Judgement is nigh! Apply your heart unto wisdom and be blessed.
The First Principles
"Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgement." Hebrews 6:1-2
"First-principles" describe the elementary things of God's truth. Before reading and writing, one needs to learn the letters of the alphabet. Similarly, these rudimentary doctrines of Christianity are the foundation for a believer's growth in the faith and subsequent understanding of weightier spiritual matters.
This new series of messages will expound upon (1) Repentance from dead works, (2) Faith towards God. (3) Doctrine of baptisms, (4) Laying on of hands, (5) Resurrection of the dead and (6) Eternal judgement. Both new Christians seeking to grow in their understanding of the Bible, and mature Christians who love the Word, will be edified by these messages.
Walking Worthy of the Lord
A Christian's walk with the LORD begins at the point of salvation. It is not an option - to live is to walk. Is your walk worthy of the wondrous salvific word of God wrought by our Saviour, Christ Jesus?
He has removed the judgment of eternal condemnation in the Lake of Fire and given us the hope of eternity with God in heaven. It is incumbent upon all who are truly born again to walk worthy of His grace and mercies in our lives.
Listen to a sermon a day to this new series of messages. May it help us re-focus and re-consecrate our lives to love and serve the LORD with renewed zeal and fervency.
In the Beginning
"I am Alpha and Omeda, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:8.
"What happened in the beginning?" "How can we know?" The answer is obvious, "Ask the one who began it all!". In this new series starting Wednesday 26 April, we shall delve into the fall of man. How he began well but soon fell under the curse, plunging the earth into sorrow and death. Was the Creator caught unawares by this turn of events? Absolutely not! This is all part of God's master plan. The theory of evolution dismisses the Creator and elevates man to the place of God. But the Bible warns, only fools say there is no God. "Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker" (Isaiah 45:9). He who is the Creator is also the Judge to come. He who began it all will also end it.
Listen to a sermon a day and ponder carefully, "On that day, how will I fare before the Judge?"
Songs of Salvation at Sunset
In our next series, we shall focus on "Songs of Salvation". Beautiful and comforting hymns. Heavenly songs which uplift the spirit and delight the heart. Hymns that bless and encourage one another. Come and join us in a time of spiritual feasting!
Earnestly Contend for the Word
Even "..... the stones would immediately cry out." (Luke 19:40)
So said our Lord to the false teachers of His day. We face a similar situation today, only a thousand times worse. The Word of God, the most precious of gifts to His church, is being altered, falsified, denied, and perverted. The Sonship of God, His blood atonement, bodily resurrection, and personal return are boldly and openly denied in the corrupted and perverted "Modern English Versions."
Should the faithful servants of the Lord quietly tolerate dumb silence? Christians of faith will declare the full counsel of God and His inerrant, infallible Word. Those who have ears, let them hear.
Follow this series to understand why the King James Bible has been sidelined in favour of modern English versions. There is more than meets the eye and danger lurks for the uninformed.
God's Plan of Eternal Redemption
"... he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world..." (Ephesians 1:4)
The LORD God has foreknown from eternity past that mankind would fall. And sinful man will deservingly be judged by a righteous God, cast into hell, and finally, the lake of fire for all eternity.
But God is merciful, gifting man redemption through the Word, the only begotten of the Father, Jesus Christ. God Himself preached the very first Gospel, bringing hope of reconciliation and eternal life to all who believe.
Throughout the ages, even periods of the greatest spiritual darkness, the salvific plan of God continued, and continues, to work, saving those predestinated by the Father, calling, justifying, and ultimately, glorifying them.
Some FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
" But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear." 1 Peter 3:14
The Christian faith is founded on truth and indisputable fact. But our adversary, the Tempter and father of lies, sows seeds of doubt in young minds as he did to Eve and Adam - "Yea, hath God said...?"
Today, the enemy continues to poison minds - children, youths, and adults - with the same style of questioning that brought about Man's downfall. And many have stumbled, even fallen away.
To be forewarned is to be forearmed.
Some more FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
"The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple." Psalm 119:130
In the previous series, a dozen or more FAQs were dealt with authoritatively from God's Word. We shall similarly seek the illumination of the Bible in this follow-on series for the same number of Frequently Asked Questions.
Thank God for His inerrant, infallible words of enlightenment, which bring complete assurance and satisfaction.
Keep My Sabbath Day Holy
"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it, thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." Exodus 20:8-11
Blessed are those who "Keep my Sabbath Day Holy".
Just one day in seven holds the divine promise of blessing! Our God says, "If thou turn away thy foot... from doing thy (own) pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord... honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words... I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth..." (Isaiah 58:13,14).
Faith
Faith is crucial in our walk as a Christian. The Bible tells us that without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). Indeed, it is only by our faith in Christ Jesus that we become children of God and are saved (Galatians 3:26).
But what exactly is faith? Do you have it? Is your faith small or great? How do you get more of it? Most importantly, is yours a genuine or dead faith?
These questions and more will be answered in this series on Faith.
Fasting
Fasting is often misunderstood and commonly abused. This series of messages will explain the correct and wrong notions and applications of fasting by examining 10 passages from God's Word on this topic.
Past Week's Message
The Climax of Creation - Evolution's Deadly Deception
A lie, told often by respectable persons, gains credibility over time. Eventually, the lie gains the semblance of truth. This is Satan's method.
In the early 20th century, it was taught that evolution began some 500 million years ago. That figure has since grown to 3 billion years. This is speculation, not science.
Today, evolution is taught in institutions of learning, from the lowest to the highest, and taken as facts. What Darwin had put forth as a tentative idea has now been accepted as "truth". But evolution is still a deception from the devil, the father of lies, to mislead man onto the path of death and destruction.
Believe only God's account of Creation:
"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul." Genesis 2:7

Until Christ Be Formed In You
Have you become complacent in your walk with Christ? Has the thirst and hunger for God, for service, for witnessing, for His people and His perfect Word waned in your life? "Until Christ Be Formed In You" is the Apostle Paul's wish for his spiritual children, that their whole lives reflect the Saviour. May these 12-messages remind you of your first love and rekindle the fire that must burn brightly in your heart for Christ.
Sing Unto The King!
Written over 2,500 years ago, the Psalms breathe worship in every note. Some are confessions, others supplications or reflections, many are praise, but always it is worship. The Psalms bring every conceivable human experience into the presence of God, whether joy or grief, trust or anxiety, hope or despair.
Learn more about selected Psalms in this series of 18-messages delivered by Rev (Dr) Tow Siang Hwa, Rev (Dr) Quek Suan Yew, Eld Chew Chong Kiat, Rev Stephen Khoo, Rev (Dr) Jeffrey Khoo and Rev (Dr) Prabhudas Koshy.
Hymns Of Revival For Flagging Spirits
Nothing revives the weary pilgrim's flagging spirit as songs of the Celestial City. Let the words from God's Book set to Heaven's music uplift your spirit from the despondency which afflicts even the best of God's saints. Be blessed by the 13-messages in this series on beloved, time-honored hymns!
Pastor's Evening Visit
The Rev James Smith's devotional readings of 1840, The Believer's Daily Remembrancer, were written for the benefit of his people "... to stir up their pure minds by way of remembrance... to promote the power of godliness... to convince, comfort, and correct; to fan the flame of devotion, and to produce holiness of heart and life." These readings can be freely downloaded by clicking HERE
Each of the 11-sermons of this new series, Pastor's Evening Visit, is based on selected Daily Remembrancer evening readings. May God pour down the riches of His grace, and abundantly increase His people with heavenly blessings so needful for daily living.
Proverbs
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge". Not the knowledge of this sin-sick world, but God-honouring knowledge.
The Book of Proverbs teaches Christians how to live lives pleasing to the Lord. It warns young and old alike of the pitfalls to avoid -- sloth, greed, licentiousness, and many more.
Become more knowledgeable by listening to this new series of 23-messages from Proverbs. Be wise and apply this knowledge in your life.
Evidence of Salvation
Jesus said, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven... then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity" (Matthew 7:21,23)
This warning must serve as a caution to all who call themselves "Christian". Are you truly a disciple of Christ, or do you only think you are saved? You cannot not know.
Evidence of a True Christian
Jesus said, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven... then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity" (Matthew 7:21,23)
This warning must serve as a caution to all who call themselves "Christian". Are you truly a disciple of Christ, or do you only think you are saved? You cannot not know. Listen to this series of 13-messages, on the "Evidence of a True Christian".
Strangers & Pilgrims
Strangers and pilgrims are travelers. The land through which they are journeying is not their home. They are not its citizens and are unencumbered by their affairs. They travel with the certainty of returning to their real home in time.
The Christian's real home is heaven. Our sojourn on this earth is but for a moment, to witness and to serve. And God Most High will demand an account of our time here when we stand in awe before Him one day.
Learn to live holy and obedient lives for our LORD as strangers and pilgrims on earth in this series of 13-messages and may you find a good companion along the way.
Understanding the Miracles of Christ
All the miracles in the Bible are called signs and wonders. They are meant to point to the person or the person's teaching! The miracles of Christ reveal many amazing truths about salvation, His ministry and who Jesus Christ really is.
The miracles of Christ thrill and amaze the mind and yet they touch the soul and transform hearts. Understand the miracles of Christ and taste and see how great Christ is. Understanding Christ's miracles will also help you to be discerning of the many claims of the "miraculous" in these last days. Listen to this series for your spiritual blessings.
The Decalogue
"Decalogue" is the term given to the "Ten Commandments" found in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5. The Decalogue is also known as the Moral Law.
How should we understand the Decalogue? Is it applicable only for Old Testament times like circumcision and animal sacrifices? Or does it continue to have relevance for Christian living today?
Find out by listening to this series of 12-messages.
Hymns of Reviving
Nothing revives the weary pilgrim's flagging spirit as songs of the Celestial City. Let the words from God's Book set to Heaven's music uplift you with a new spirit.
Learn about the beloved time-honored hymns written by God's people in this series of 13 sermons. Preaching and praying one day shall cease, but praising of God and our Saviour shall continue with enduring blessedness and joy for everlasting days.
Pastor's Evening Visit
The topic for this new series of 12 sermons is taken from selected evening readings of Rev James Smith's "Daily Remembrancer", which is freely downloadable here - https://bit.ly/Remembrancer.
Rev Smith says, "We want nothing new in divinity, the old is better. We only want the power and the unction of the Holy Spirit to bring home the truth with energy and savour to our souls. We want more of Christ, and less of self. May every preaching of the Word endear the Saviour, promote confidence in God, lead to entire consecration of soul to Him, and be the means of comforting many a weary pilgrim. May we all be led from the fleeting vanities of time to the substantial realities of eternity."
May all listeners be greatly enriched by this series.
Prayer
'"Pray without ceasing" is our Lord's command to all His children. But our sense of self-sufficiency has turned prayer into an "emergency exit" that we use only if we cannot solve a problem.
But God says to His children to enter into His presence boldly. He urges us to pray all the time. No matter is too small that He does not care. No matter is too big that He cannot help. He desires all His children to lean on Him and not upon themselves. He lovingly keeps this prayer door always open to all His children.
It is of utmost importance we pray correctly. This new series on prayer help us to pray in such a way that all that we ask will be answered by God. Did not our Lord say, " And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it." (John 14:13-14)
Listen to a sermon a day and be spiritually enlightened.
Earnestly Contend for the Faith
"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints."
Jude 3 charges all God's faithful servants to fight for the Christian faith which has been handed down from one generation to the next since the fall of man. Without the truth that Christ alone saves, all are doomed to hell! This gospel of truth must be defended at all costs!
Are you earnestly contending for the faith?
May these new series re-invigorate you to stand against apostasy and share the unadulterated gospel with someone today.
Listen to a sermon a day, and be spiritually enlightened.
Christ - the Head of the Church: Studying the 7-Churches in Revelation
Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, Laodicea -- the 7-churches of Revelation. Each was commended and/or rebuked by Christ, the Head, in turn.
The church is not the building but the people. The lessons from the churches of Revelation are therefore about the congregation who makes up each local church. Are we lukewarm in our faith? Do we continue to be carnal even as we profess Christ? Or are we materially rich but spiritually poor?
Listen to a sermon a day, be convicted of our first love, and reignite the fiery zeal in our Christian walk.
But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD
What a privilege it is to serve the Lord. Our Lord is no ordinary lord. He is our God and our Saviour - the Lord Jesus Christ. We have been called to serve the King of kings and Lord of lords who has saved us from our sins.
The Kingdom of God needs more faithful and true prophets and priests, pastors and teachers, evangelists and missionaries to share the good news of salvation with a dying world.
Will you not answer the LORD's call to serve Him? Listen to this series to learn what we must be, and what we must do, to be faithful and effective servants of God. This is especially important in these last days of spiritual and moral apathy, apostasy, confusion, and compromise.
500-Years of John Calvin - Continuing Reformation in Perilous Times
Not many Christians take the time to explore the rich spiritual heritage of John Calvin, the great Genevan theologian, as contained in his many sermons, letters, and famous "Institutes of the Christian Religion."
The Kingdom of God needs more faithful and true prophets and priests, pastors and teachers, evangelists and missionaries to share the good news of salvation with a dying world.
Calvin sought neither fame nor greatness but only to promote true, Biblical Christianity. He would be the first to advise us to turn to the living and everlasting Word of God. Yet being endowed with an unusually keen mind, and a receptive heart, Calvin's expositions of Biblical truths are both timeless and timely.
May the 11-messages give us greater insights into Christianity and the Reformation
Hebrews - Promise of Better Things
Hebrews is the only New Testament book where the writer's identity is not immediately obvious. It is attributed to the Apostle Paul as the book's thoughts and arguments are Pauline throughout.
This epistle contains deep theological insight into the nature of salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Originally written for Jewish Christians, it draws heavily from the Old Testament to convince and convict that Christ is the culmination of God's salvific plan.
May the 13 messages from this series further strengthen your faith, and re-invigorate your witness for Christ in a world dying in sin.
Our Beginning
Since the time of Darwin 200-years ago, cultured men and women of intelligence have denied their divine origin and believed in kinship with apes and animals. They see no need of God, no God, and no Creator. But answers to the most basic of questions elude them.
"What is the purpose of life?", "Why must I die?", "Where do I go after death?". These provocative questions and many others will be answered from God's Word in this series of 9 messages.
Those who come to Christ to receive light from His Word will find wisdom of the highest order: simply to know that we have a Creator, who is able to give us eternal life, which triumphs over death. Will you be one of the wise?
Contemporary Issues: Save Our Children
"... Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 19:14.
The adults who wanted to stop the young children from going to Christ were expressly told to stop hindering them. Why? Because heaven is made up of people with child-like faith. Therefore young children are the best candidates for heaven!
The world entices our children with carnal desires and sinful habits. Their child-likeness is soon lost with age, replaced sadly with scepticism and rebellion.
This new series of messages has been planned for parents to stand in the gap, to help their children see that coming to Christ is the best possible choice! These sermons are also designed to warn our children of the dangers in this world - a world in its last throes of existence.
