My dear readers,

1. Amazing Apostasy of retired Archbishop

It was no great surprise when Lord Rowan Williams began to dabble in Buddhistic exercises and practice. After all, he had been well known for his anti-Christian beliefs which were decidedly "liberal" in nature – accepting the practice of homosexuality by "Christians" and the ordination of women and gays into the priesthood, openly admitting ordaining a gay man (practicing) into the priesthood; thus infuriating many conservatives within the Anglican Church (causing some Anglican Churches to leave the fold of the "Mother Church"). Rowan Williams by his actions, has caused much opposition and unrest within the Anglican Church.

Amazingly, one of Williams’ chief concerns is how the church and Christianity have been declining in influence in England and in Western society! He expressed his feeling thus: "If there a one thing I long for above all else, it’s that the years to come may see Christianity in this country (England) able again to capture the imagination of our culture, and to draw the strongest energies of our thinking and feeling." (Obviously the man is not conscious that he is the cause of the declining influence of the Church of England during the 10 years of his management, or rather mismanagement.)

Now let’s hear what David Cloud has to say on the matter.

a) ANGLICANS HEADING TO ROME (Friday Church News Notes, November 26, 2010, www.wayoflife.org) -- An estimated 500-600 Anglicans led by five bishops and 50 priests are expected to join the Roman Catholic Church under a new system established by Pope Benedict. The Vatican’s program makes it easier for Anglicans to convert to the Catholic Church. The objective is to entice "traditionalists opposed to women priests, openly gay clergy and the blessing of same-sex unions" ("Vatican Seeks to Lure Disaffected,"Denver Post, Oct 20, 2009). The program allows Anglicans to join the Catholic Church while keeping some of their practices, including a married priesthood. They can also convert in groups rather than on an individual basis. Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury, was informed of the program only hours before its announcement a year ago. (So much for ecumenical respect and good will!)The Daily Telegraphrecently announced that five Anglican bishops are leading the departure. Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury, warns that the departure will leave Anglican parishes without vicars.

b) THE ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY’S UNBELIEF (Friday Church News Notes, April 3, 2009, www.wayoflife.org) -- Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, claims that God will not intervene to save the world. After describing possible doomsday scenarios caused by such things as global warming or bioterrorism, the head of the global Anglican Communion said that "to suggest that God might intervene to protect us from the corporate folly of our practices is as un-Christian and un-biblical as to suggest that he protects us from the results of our individual folly or sin" ("God Won’t Rescue World from Stupidity,"USA Today, March 27, 2009). The spiritually blind church leader added that there "will not be a safety net that guarantees us a happy ending in this world." In fact, we do not know anything about the future for certain except what God has revealed in Scripture, and there we find that the world will not end by any man-made catastrophe. Rather, Jesus Christ will return in power and glory and establish the global kingdom of God, ruling over it with a rod of iron. "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation" (2 Peter 3:3-4).

2. What must we do?

"Return to God’s Words!" The Apostle Paul’s word is just suited to our needs! Let’s turn to 2 Thessalonians 2:15-16:

"Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace."

The times in which we live will not get better, only worse. These are the end times before our Lord returns! Be awake! Watch and pray! Hold fast the faithful Word taught by God’s servants.

May our Lord find us watching, when He comes!

God bless all readers, till He come!

Yours faithfully in the Saviour’s Service,

Dr SH Tow, Sr Pastor
