My dear readers,
1. "Perilous times shall come"
God’s words by the hand of the apostle Paul have sounded a stern warning of "perilous times." These "perilous times" have truly come upon Planet Earth. We do not need exceptional intelligence to appreciate that in today’s world, more than ever before, men are
"…lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God" (2 Tim 3:2-4).
Society everywhere has been subverted, infiltrated and dominated by the "prince of this world." He senses that his days are numbered wherein he may victimize and deceive. Our members, young and not so young, are being seduced and bound with fetters of fashion, materialism, and worldliness. These become enslaved by the enemy of our souls.
What must we do? The apostle supplies the answer:
"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution" (2 Tim 3:12).
But our God is with us to aid us in our warfare against the enemy.
"But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus" (2 Tim 3:14-15).
Dear reader, daily watch and pray, that ye fall not into the traps of the Tempter. Our Lord only is our sure defence in these perilous times. Keep close to Him!
2. Hold Fast
"…hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown" (Rev 3:11).
God’s goodness and mercy call for thanksgiving and renewal of our loyalty to the Master. We are conscious of the fact that now we are that much closer to our Lord’s return. Are you ready, daily preparing for the Lord’s return?
These are perilous times of "falling away" (2 Thess 2:3) and deception by false Christs and false prophets. Unless we keep close to the Lord and heed His Word, we too will fall away.
From heaven our Lord speaks:
"Because thou hast kept the word… I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown"(Rev 3:10-11).
Hold fast to God’s Word. Go and bear witness for Him while it is still day; the night soon comes when no man can work. Hold fast! Let no man take thy crown.
Hold fast the Reformation Bible, the KJV, which is the Bible of the Reformers, the only Bible which cost the blood of the martyrs. Never let it be displaced by any corrupt ecumenical Modern English Version. Beware of the ecumenical trap. This is the end time deception planted by Westcott and Hort.
Dearly beloved, remember your God-given heritage. Safeguard it jealously! We came out of the Twentieth Century Reformation – "BP" meaning "Bible-Presbyterians." Hold fast, be faithful, fight the good fight of faith.
Our Bible is one: the King James Bible or KJB. Users of the KJB may be few in numbers, yet our confidence is in the Lord our rock, our fortress, our strength. Before many days we shall see Him coming in the clouds of heaven whose name is Faithful and True, the Word of God, the Judge of all the earth. He looks for faithfulness, not numbers.
Why has the KJB declined, fallen from its 400-year supremacy as "The Bible" of the English-speaking people? The reason lies in history. If God’s people would study the history of the KJB, they would never forsake it for any Modern English Version. But this"falling away" is foretold in God’s Word (2 Thess 2:3).
3. Even so, come, Lord Jesus
All signs point to our Lord’s soon return. The world is speeding toward the climactic Event. Our Lord’s coming is nearer than we think!
Let us heed our Lord’s words:
"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come… Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household… Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing"(Matt 24:42-46).
Let us watch unto prayer, doing our level best that when the Lord appears we may appear with Him in glory. Until then, strive our utmost for His everlasting Kingdom! Amen.
God bless all readers.
Yours faithfully in the Saviour’s Service,
Dr SH Tow, Sr Pastor
