THANKS BE UNTO GOD WHO HATH TRANSLATED US INTO THE KINGDOM OF HIS DEAR SON. Now are we the sons of God: what honour and comfort is this! Yes, we are of God, created anew in Christ Jesus by the power and agency of the Holy Spirit. Consecrated to His service and glory, by the death of our great High Priest, and the sprinkling of His blood, we are set apart in His eternal purpose for His praise, brought into holy and blessed relation to Him. We once were rebels, now His willing servants; once avowed enemies, now His loyal friends; once the children of wrath, now the children of His love. We know that we are of God, by faith in His word, by love to His saints, by sympathy with Himself, by the grief when we sin, by our pleasure doing His will, by our separation from the world. Our principles, pleasures, and pursuits distinguish us from the world for we are of God. We are His peculiar treasure, His portion, His delight. Amazing grace, amazing knowledge to know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true ... and we are in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
