May 24 Evening: "The just shall live by faith" - Gal 3:11

"AND THE LAW IS NOT OF FAITH." Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. In Him we receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. It is by faith alone that we become just. Being convinced of sin, sensible of our weakness, and understanding the gospel, we embrace the finished work of Christ; His righteousness becomes ours, and we are justified from all things. Being justified we live. That is, we are freed from condemnation; we are entitled to all spiritual blessings, and we walk at liberty. We live by faith. By faith we overcome our foes. By faith we obtain supplies. By faith we perform the will of God. By faith we walk with God. The life which we live in the flesh, is by the faith of the Son of God. We believe His word, rest alone on His work, have confidence in His faithfulness, and derive our supplies from His fulness. We work from principle, not for wages. We live as children in our Father's house, not as servants on a payroll. We go forward though all appear dark, gloomy, and forbidding. At times we appear to have nothing but the bare promise. All within is cold, hard, and dead; all without seems to go against us. Then it is that we more particularly trust in the Lord and stay ourselves upon our God. It is all by faith.

For Meditation:
By faith accounted just,
By faith to God we live,
With patience wait His time, and trust
His fulness to receive.
