"NO GOOD THING WILL HE WITHHOLD FROM THEM THAT WALK UPRIGHTLY." He will give grace and glory to those who walk with Him. This is good news, for except the Lord gives us grace we shall never be sanctified; and except He justifies us, we shall never be glorified. All these flow to us by the free grace of God. If any good work was required of us to justify us, we should sink into total despair; but now all is of divine bounty: we have a bright hope and we need fear no more. The Lord has given grace to countless thousands. He has given us His free grace, and He will give more grace, grace to fit for duty, grace to support in trial, grace to sanctify the heart, and yet more grace to lead us to glory and perfection. Brethren, let us believe that our God is as kind, bountiful, and benevolent as His Word declares. Let us confess our sins before Him, seek grace from Him, and long to be glorified with Him. Our all is in God, our all must come from God; and all the glory should be daily given to God. Whenever we want grace, let us ask it of God, for He gives liberally and upbraids not. Let us approach His throne this morning, and make this our prayer, "Lord, give us more grace. Give us grace daily, grace to devote to Thy service, and fill us with holy love."
For Meditation:
Blest is our lot whate'er befall;
Who can affright or who appal?
Thou art our strength, our rock, our all,
Without Thee we would surely fall.
