THE COMPANY ON THE MOUNTAIN WAS DELIGHTFUL. There was nothing like it before: let it go on. So said Peter to the Lord, and so we too have said when enjoying His presence and love. It is good to live and walk in communion with God. It is good to be numbered with God's people, and to occupy a place in His church. It is good to be in the present world for the opportunity of bearing witness for Jesus and of using our talents to help build His Kingdom and glorify God. At times we may be called upon to suffer for Him. Is Jesus honoured by our patient suffering? Then, even on the bed of affliction, we shall say, "Lord, it is good to be here." Is our God pleased with our industry, forbearance, and testimony to the goodness and grace of Jesus? Then in our business and in company with those whom we are trying to benefit, we may exclaim, "Lord, it is good to be here!" Yes, Christian, it is good to be anywhere, and anything, as long as the Saviour is glorified, and the purpose of our redemption be seen to magnify Jesus. O may we always honour our God on earth; then we may say, "Lord, it is good to be here."
