Daily Remembrancer

December 10 Morning: "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me" - Jn 17:20

"THAT THEY ALL MAY BE ONE ... as Thou, Father, art in me, and I in Thee, that they also may be one in us. "Beloved, when Jesus was praying for His disciples, He prayed also for us; His prayer extends to all who truly believe in the one living and true God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. He prayed that we may be one with Himself, one with His church as members of the same body, children of the same adoption, heirs of the same inheritance, and parts of the same spiritual temple. This is not the current "Church Union" of the Ecumenical Movement, which is joining together all Christendom in one great universal "Christian Church" within the Catholic system. Our Lord's prayer does not include the nominal, liberal, modernistic, idol-venerating and image-worshipping churches. For the Christ-honouring, Bible- believing and Bible-obeying churches, which keep themselves separate from the apostate Ecumenical Church, our Lord prays that we may be one with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, being of one mind, one Spirit, one calling, and one body - the body of Christ.

For Meditation:
Thy Comforter Spirit give
Whom the world cannot receive :
Fill me with the Father's love,
Never from my soul remove:
Dwell in me, and I shall be
Thine through all eternity.
