Daily Remembrancer

December 12 Morning: "He is the Saviour of the body" - Eph 5:23

"CHRIST LOVED THE CHURCH, AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR IT." He redeemed it with His own blood. The Church is now become the body of Christ. In Him we His people are united as one. We are His elect whom He has chosen, His seed which He had begotten, His portion which He had received, His delight and glory, in which He constantly rejoices. He saves us by substitution: He took our place, our offences, and our sins. He saves us by giving us free grace and the Holy Spirit, with every spiritual blessing beside. He saves us by instruction, for we are all taught of God. He saves us by separation, bringing us out and delivering us from this present evil world, and the current ecumencial one world system. He saves us by granting us life and favour. He saves us by translation, first out of the kingdom of Satan into His kingdom of grace; and finally out of the present world into His kingdom of glory. He saves us according to His perfect will, to confound His foes, exalt His own name, and prove His love. All who are saved form part of His body, one divine and everlasting happy family, the true Church.

For Meditation:
Jesus bore our full transgression
In His body on the cross;
Through His blood we've full remission;
All for Him we count but loss:
Jesus for the sinner bleeds,
Nothing more the sinner needs.
