"HE THAT HATH CLEAN HANDS SHALL BE STRONGER AND STRONGER." Thus shall the righteous be equipped for the road to heaven. The way is rough and rugged: our strength is often feeble, our fears are too many. But if we are justified by grace, sanctified by the Spirit, and pursue a stedfast walk with God, there is no doubt of our safe arrival at our Father's house; for "the righteous shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall wax stronger and stronger." The true believer shall hold on, for the promise of God secures him; the fulness of Christ supplies him; the Spirit of grace upholds him; the new nature sustains him; occasional love tokens encourage him; and attachment to the Lord and His people keeps him from forsaking the right ways of the Most High. Beloved, let us strive to have a blameless conduct, always walking close to Jesus; then our graces will flourish and we shall be firmly rooted in Christ. Our daily conquests in His might will give us courage, and our God will give grace and glory. Let us not be timid or despondent, for our Lord is by our side. "They go from strength to strength; every one of them in Zion appeareth before God."
For Meditation:
They may on the waves of temptation be tossed,
Their troubles may swell like the sea;
But none of the ransomed shall ever be lost,
The righteous shall hold on his way.
