June 26 Evening: "I am the way." - Jn 14:6

"NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER BUT BY ME." Many people desire to go to heaven, and many ways are presented. But not all lead to heaven. Our Lord says, "I am the way." We are at a distance from God: as sinners, there is no way in which we can approach God with acceptance. But Jesus, by becoming our Mediator, opened the way to the Father. He is the only way no matter what men may say, no matter what many churches preach today, that all faiths lead to God: God's truth does not change with time. Jesus is the way from a state of sin to a state of holiness; from the dread of hell, to the enjoyment of God's eternal love. He is the only way to reconciliation to God, acceptance with God, enjoyment of God, and to the presence and glory of God. As the way He is open to all sinners who are willing to come to Him, safe for all who believe on Him, and the only way of escape from the wrath to come. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way. Now the Holy Spirit shows us the way. We enter upon it by faith. We have to travel along the way with patience and everyone that travels with patience, arrives at the end of it in safety. Beloved, the ground on which we stand is good, the way in which we walk is one, and the end of the journey is everlasting life. Jesus is that way, the only way.

For Meditation:
Thou art the way - to Thee alone,
From sin and death we flee;
And he who would the Father seek,
Must seek Him, Lord, in Thee.
