"RECKON YE YOURSELVES ALIVE UNTO GOD THROUGH JESUS CHRIST." The old man is dead, crucified with Christ, and now a new man with a new nature lives for the Lord. We are brought under new obligations and are expected to keep new objects in view. Being baptized into the death of Christ and united with Him in His resurrection, we should walk by new principles: the free grace of God, holy truth, and divine power of God: these should lead us to walk in newness of life, no longer following social customs, or imitating the ways of the world, but to walk according to God's word, and our Saviour's example. The love of God and zeal for His glory should be the motives by which we act. Then let us strive to honour God, to enjoy His presence, to exalt the Lord Jesus, and to bless others. Let us prove the power and purity of our faith, justify our profession, and show our Christian love by our actions. New creatures in Christ must show by a new life that their faith is alive and their profession genuine. Beloved, are you walking in newness of life?
