"LO, I AM WITH YOU ALWAY." Our Lord's parting promise is precious beyond words. It is our privilege to have the Lord always with us. He is pledged to us by promise. He has said, "I am with you always. I will never leave you nor forsake you." He is with you as a Father to care for you; as the omnipotent God to defend you. He is with you to counsel you in difficulty, to guide you in perplexity, to strengthen you in weakness, to deliver you in danger and to comfort you in all your tribulations. Your God has always proved Himself true to His word. Is not your Lord your God with you? Poor Christian! Tempted soul! Tried believer! Is not your God with you? Who sustains you? Who supplies you? Who preserves you from despair? He is with you. Trust in Him. If the Lord be with you, you are a match for Satan, for the world, for every trouble, yea, for death itself. Believe with all your heart that God is with you. Say, "The Lord of Hosts is with us, the God of Jacob is our refuge; therefore will we not fear. I will trust and not be afraid, for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation."

Our God, unchanging as of old;
My soul of His faithfulness boasts,
In Him my refuge I behold!
