"…be a vessel unto honour,
sanctified, and meet for the master’s use…"

SANCTIFICATION IS A MUST FOR GOD’S PEOPLE (2)

If we are truly clean and hygienic, we will not want to use unclean and unhygienic cups and plates for our food or drink as they will bring germs and harmful things into our body. Spiritually speaking, the holy God will never use unclean vessels for His holy work and glory. Some may argue, "How about Judas Iscariot? God also used him, and without him the Lord Jesus would not be arrested!" Many are deceived by "The Lost Gospel – The Gospel of Judas" claiming that Judas was Jesus’ favourite disciple who helped Jesus to fulfil God’s purpose! Be not deceived! The Lord Jesus called Judas "a devil" (John 6:70) and said it would have been better if "he had not been born" to betray Him (Matt 26:24). With the Jews’ intense envy, hatred and evil plan to kill Jesus, they could have killed Him by some other means. Judas was just an unclean vessel for an unclean job, like a dustbin, not to honour but to dishonour. "But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work" (2 Tim 2:20-21). What about you?

Sadly, many today do not care about holiness and godliness! They still believe and claim that they are God’s children and servants and that God has been with them, helping and blessing them with their church growth in size and number. But certainly not in holiness and godliness! It is the most dangerous self-deception! Moreover, they have fellowship with charismatic, ecumenical and neo-evangelical leaders and churches and invite popular speakers and church planters to speak to their churches to help their churches grow in size and number! They even advertise that those popular speakers are God’s great servants, whom God mightily used to plant and help the churches grow fast, far and wide! They are used by unholy and ungodly people, but not by the holy God! Do you want to be used by the holy God as His holy vessel unto honour? You must be sanctified!

THOUGHT: Without holiness I shall not be a clean vessel for God
PRAYER: O Lord, purge me, sanctify me and use me for Thy glory.
