Isaiah 59:16-19
Jude 3-4
…then walk with God
THE SPIRIT CONTENDING
“Salvation is of the LORD” (Jon 2:9) declared Jonah from the ocean depths. We echo with a chorus of voices of the “seven thousand in Israel” whose knees have not bowed unto Baal (1 Kings 19:18) and whose mouths have not kissed the ecumenical idol. Salvation is of the Lord! Not by the might of ecumenical union, nor by the power of people politics, but by my Spirit, says the Lord (Zech 4:6).
Our God is a God of War. Or did you always think of Him as a gentle dove, benignly flapping His wings over the heads of Holy Spirit Renewal groups, dancing, shouting Hallelujahs with uplifted hands? O return to the Word and be wise! “Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle” (Ps 24:8).
The Lord fights for the honour of His name. Isaiah saw a great falling away of the nation into destruction and captivity. Humanly speaking there was no hope for Israel. The enemy was in full control. But salvation is of the Lord! The Lord’s name shall never suffer damage. He arises to save! Read Isaiah 59:19.
Today churches have fallen away, captured by the forces of Liberalism, Modernism, Neo-Evangelicalism, Charismaticism, Romanism, and Ecumenism. Led by archbishops and popes, deluded millions have been captivated by the dream and vision of universal brotherhood and peace through OIKOUMENE, One World.
But we, and the “seven thousand in Israel” who stand with us, declare, “Salvation is of the Lord! Not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit!” Jude 3 says that we are to “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” The enemy has come in one great ecumenical flood. But God’s Spirit has lifted up a standard against him. The Spirit contends for us! Fear not, He is with us!
THOUGHT: Am I willing to stand under the Lord’s standard?
PRAYER: Lord, raise up more to join the faithful “seven thousand”!
