A FALLING AWAY: THE RC (1)
Today we begin to consider each of the five main categories in the great FALLING AWAY mentioned yesterday. By virtue of its size and global influence, the Roman Church (RC) is pre-eminent in the departure from the faith. Space will permit only the briefest consideration of that church.
The RC is not a true Church of Jesus Christ, although it bears the name “Holy Apostolic Church,” a name it has claimed for some 1,500 years. In actual fact and function, the RC is a global political power with diplomatic missions in over l00 countries around the world. Its socio-economic and political influences encircle the globe, without parallel and without equal, operating under the guise of the ONLY TRUE CHURCH, to which all other churches must turn.
The financial operations of the RC are worldwide and unrivalled even by the multinational corporate giants. Dispensing wealth, power and influence in the name of the church is the greatest FALLING AWAY. God has a name for this travesty of religion. He calls it FORNICATION, meaning spiritual adultery, or abuse of the Gospel. The RC’s power is such that Mr Gorbachev, the then-leader of the atheistic superpower, had to seek its help in December 1989. The Marxist of East Europe had collapsed under the irresistible democratic movement by the RC. Sick Marxism was compelled to ask for a dose of religion, the opium of the people, from the RC!
The immediate pull, and ultimate power, of the RC is yet to be seen in the ecumenical process. While Rome sits in majestic splendour beaming its condescending smile, the separated brethren and the rest of Christendom are being drawn irresistibly back to Mother Church.
WATCH, as Rome leads in the FALLING AWAY.

PRAYER: Father, grant me spiritual eyesight to see beyond the superficial.
