6. He comes WITH ALL HIS ANGELS. Our returning Lord, the KING OF HEAVEN will come, clothed with unspeakable glory, honour, power and majesty, with the armies of heaven in attendance. The angelic hosts, clothed in fine linen, follow Him on white horses (Rev 19:14). Our Lord said in Matthew 25:31, “When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him…” It will be an awesome and dazzling spectacle.
7. He comes WITH ALL HIS SAINTS. God planned it from the beginning that when “…Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory” (Col 3:4). Enoch saw and testified, “Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints” (Jude 14). So did Zechariah: “And the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee” (Zech 14:5). The resurrected, transformed believers, caught up to be with the Lord (1 Thess 4:16-17) will return to earth with Him. O glorious day!
8. He comes BACK TO JERUSALEM. The KING OF THE JEWS must return to the CAPITAL! God showed His plan to Zechariah: “…his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west…” (Zech 14:4). The angels at the Ascension said it too: “This same Jesus… shall so come… as ye have seen him go…” (Acts 1:11). Jesus shall come back to the mount of Olives.
9. He comes to REIGN ON EARTH. This will be the fulfilment of the prophecies by God’s holy prophets through the ages, and the realisation of the hopes of all the redeemed of God. God’s plan of salvation will finally be fully accomplished. The glorified, triumphant CRUCIFIED LAMB returns to His created planet, on which He perfected our redemption, to establish His glorious millennial reign (Rev 20:4).
THOUGHT: We shall reign on earth with Him a thousand years.
PRAYER: May I read Thy Word with eyes of understanding and believe with a heart of faith.
