A THOUSAND GLORIOUS YEARS ON EARTH
Let us let Scripture speak for itself. If we do this, we shall find great profit. May the Holy Spirit guide us into all truth as we ask ourselves, “Where will Christ’s everlasting kingdom be: on earth or in heaven?” We find the answer from prophecy.
a) DANIEL. God gave Daniel visions to see the “end of the story.” All the kingdoms of men will ultimately be destroyed by God’s kingdom which is depicted as a stone “cut out without hands… became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth” (Dan 2:34-35). In his second vision, Daniel saw that “the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High…” (Dan 7:27). The two visions say the same thing: Christ’s kingdom will be ON EARTH.
b) ZECHARIAH. In his prophecy, Zechariah foresaw the return of Christ in the “day of the Lord” (i.e. Great Tribulation, Zech 14:1). “And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives…” (Zech 14:4). And where is the mount of Olives? In Israel. ON EARTH.
c) GABRIEL. Consider the archangel’s words to the virgin Mary: “And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever…” (Luke 1:31-33). David’s throne is ON EARTH.
d) PAUL. Read again Romans 8:19-23. Paul spoke of the “whole creation” groaning, waiting for the adoption or “the redemption of our body,” and that the creation itself “also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption…” Amazing truth! At Christ’s coming, He will redeem not only our bodies, but the physical creation as well. He will redeem EARTH for the MILLENNIUM.
THOUGHT: Christ died on earth to restore MEN AND EARTH.
PRAYER: Father, Creator and Redeemer! Blessed be Thy Name!
