PROVERBS 1:1-7
FEAR THE LORD
"Come to my office at once."When Alvin heard his school principal’s thunderous voice, his heart beat really fast and his knees started knocking each other. He cheated in his exam. His mind was racing to see where he could run to hide. But Alvin knew he would get into bigger trouble if he did not submit and obey the principal. Alvin dared not further anger him.
Alvin feared because he believes that the school principal has power to punish him for breaking a school rule. e Bible says that we have all broken God’s rules and have sinned and the punishment of sin is death. The Bible is God’s Word and God’s Word will always be true. So children, we ought to believe that God means what He says and has the power to punish us because God has created us and is all-powerful.
Yes, we ought to fear God and fear breaking His commandments. First, we must believe in the true and living God who has sent Jesus to save us from the punishment of sin. en, we will begin to know more and more of our creator God.
Strike o the wrong words in this verse:
The fear / neglect of God is the end / beginning of knowledge and wisdom.

Thought: Only when I believe and have a deep respect or reverence for God will I receive godly wisdom.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please increase my knowledge of Your love and power. Help me to worship You in the right way, always keeping quiet and paying attention during Junior Worship and the Christian children programmes. Most of all, may what I learn be applied in my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
