A SANCTIFIED BODY (1)

Looking at our human body with our senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch, our brain, heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, cells, tissues, or the structures of DNA, our nervous, respiratory, circulatory, digestive, immune and reproductive systems, we must acknowledge God our Creator’s perfect wisdom, power and love. God created human beings with an amazing body to carry out His will, purposes, plans, desires and works for His glory as well as for the benefits of mankind. Sadly, due to the human sinful heart and corrupt mind, they do not desire the holy and true God the Creator to fear Him, worship Him, serve Him, thank Him and glorify Him. Instead, they choose their man-made false gods to get material blessings regardless of their selfish and sinful lifestyles. Actually, they are worshipping Satan, the Devil, unawares (Matt 4:8-9; 1 Cor 10:20). How vital it is to have a sanctified spirit and soul, then a sanctified body!

Some think that only the human soul is real while the human body is not, and that what you see with your eyes is not real either. As a result, they just indulge in all kinds of sins. However, the Bible teaches us that our body is real and honorable and that we are responsible for what we have done and will do with our body before God (1 Cor 6:15, 20). Some think that the human soul is good while the human body is sinful and evil, so they have to control the body by torturing it, leaving it hungry and thirsty, or disciplining it and punishing it hard to keep it from sins. However, the human soul is sinful and totally depraved (Mark 7:21-23), so all human efforts to control their bodies are just vain if they are not born again and living with a sanctified spirit and sanctified soul controlled by the Holy Spirit and God’s Word (Col 2:21-23). Those who deny God and His Truth believe that human beings are just materials without a soul, and when they die, it is the end, without Heaven or Hell. As a result, they just enjoy their lives and live in sin without any care for their souls or their future. However, the Bible tells us that Heaven and Hell are real (Rev 21), and "after this the judgment" (Heb 9:27). What about you?

THOUGHT: My body must be sanctified as a clean vessel for God.
PRAYER: Lord, please keep my body sanctified for Thy use.
