1 Corinthians 8:1a
IDOLS
There is no other God but ours. However, other religions have “gods” which are really idols. There is only one God who made all, and has power over all. This is our God, who created heaven and earth, who created man and all living things. Not only that, He created the universe and all the starts in the countless galaxies.
In today’s verse, Paul warned the church in Corinth not to believe in idols. You, too, must not trust in other gods.
Today, sadly, many people still make their own gods. When you go sightseeing in countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, China and India, you will see many statues or idols everywhere you go. The people in these places pray to the idols openly.
I’m sure you don’t pray to a idol. But do you love something more than God? What are some things that children in Singapore love? Could be nice dresses, television, computers, toys and games. If we love any of these, or anything or anyone, more than we love God, we make these things our idols.
Do we love God more than anything else? He is the one real God who loves us. He must be most important in our hearts.

Thought: What are some things that people might love more than God?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, You are my God and will always be. Forgive me for not always loving You more than anything else. Help me to trust You and love You always. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
