2 Corinthians 1:3, 4
GOD COMFORTS (I)
God comforts — and Apostle Paul begins with this promise from God. When he first went to Corinth, people opposed him. It was hard but he had anticipated problems. God knew how he felt and appeared to him, what a comfort! When was the last time Paul saw God? A few years ago — when he was converted and called into the gospel work. The appearance of the Lord was timely.
Write down the words of comfort God said to the anguishing apostle:

(Acts 18:9,10a)
Paul stayed on in Corinth for a long 18 months because God had comforted him.
Have you read a beautiful poem called ‘Footprints’? It describes a man who in a dream sees God walking with him. As he sees scenes of his life pass by, he notices 2 pairs of footprints on the sand, one belonging to him and one belonging to the Lord. But as the last scene of his life passes before him he notices there is only one set of footprints. It appears during the lowest and saddest times of his life. This really bothers him, and so he asks the Lord about it, “Lord, didn’t You promise that You would never leave nor forsake me? But I have noticed that during the tumultuous times of my life there is only one set of footsteps. Where were You during those times?” The Lord graciously replied, “My precious child, when you see only one set of footsteps, it was then that I carried you.”
The Lord surely comforts, even when you think no one understands
Thought: How can we experience the comfort of God?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your words. They bring comfort and joy. In times of trial, You will never leave me nor forsake me. Nothing can pluck me out of the Father’s hand. Thank You for being with me always. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
