2 Corinthians 5:10

                    A REWARD FOR YOU

Do you like to receive a reward? After you die, you will go to heaven if you are a Christian. In heaven, there will be a reward for you. For the good and kind things you do while on earth, you will earn a reward or prize. Whenever Christian boys and girls help their parents or teachers or friends, God prepares a reward for them. But whenever they disobey their parents or do naughty things, God is displeased with them.

The reward that God is preparing for you will last forever and will make you very happy. How sad it will be if you get to heaven and find that your reward is very small. By then it will be too late. As you have your whole life ahead of you, you can spend it for God who gave life to you. Now it is the time to decide whether you want to live your life for Jesus or not.

Do you think that the apostle Paul and his fellow missionaries are happy in heaven and have received rewards that are very big? See what they had been through – (the first few letters are given)

“We are troubled on every side, yet not dist __________; we are perplexed, but not in des__________; Persecuted, but not for__________; cast down, but not dest __________;

Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body” (2 Corinthians 4:8-10).

They were willing to bear suffering for Jesus’ sake. They were wiling to die for the Lord Jesus. They are very happy in heaven now.

When we reach heaven, the books will be opened in which all the things we have thought, said and done will be written. Jesus will decide what He will reward us for. There will be surprises. Some people who have thought that they have done a lot for God will be disappointed because what they have done do not please God. And some people will get more than they expect. We must be careful how we live now so that we will have a prize from God.

Thought: Why must we be careful how we live our lives now?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for preparing prizes to reward us in heaven. Help us to love and obey You by doing the right things to please You, because You love us so much. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
