MARCH 7, Genesis 22:1-9 , Galatians 3:6-8
Sometimes when you get into trouble and difficulties, your faith is tested. Will you still trust God under trying times?
Can you think of any men and women who were tested in their faith and how?

Why is there testing of the faith? God tries His people to prove whether they mean what they say. Would Abraham trust God no matter what happened? God had a test for him. It was the hardest test anyone could face – sacrifice your own son! Would Abraham pass the test? Think how long he waited to have a child! Think how much he must have loved Isaac! He was the only son Abraham had left, as Ishmael had gone. No doubt it would have been easier to kill himself than to sacrifice his own dear son. To kill his own dear son – his heart must have cried out in terrible pain. “Why, oh, why have You asked me to do this thing?” It was not a complaint to God. It was a cry in anguish. But Abraham obeyed God.
The father and son climbed the mountain silently side by side. Isaac noticed that they hadn’t brought any animal with them, so when he began to wonder out loud why they hadn’t brought anything for the sacrifice, his father, the man of great faith said with confidence, “God will provide the lamb.”
When you are tested, you must pray and ask God for help. Trust Him and do not rely on yourself. Some Christians blame God for ‘bad’ things happening to them. They turn away from God. No ‘bad’ thing can befall on God’s people. Everything happening to you is always for your good to build up your faith and to make you a stronger Christian.
Thought: May I be a child of faith!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to trust You always, whatever problems I may have. And when my faith is put to the test, help me to pass! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
