SEPTEMBER 20, Ephesians 3:14-15

Everyone has a family. You have a family. You may also have a brother and sister. Our parents work to provide for our daily needs. They buy us toys and perhaps others things we like. When we are sad and worried, they are there for us. It is wonderful to be a part of a family.

When you receive Jesus Christ, you become a part of God’s family. Apostle John wrote in his gospel, saying, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” ( John 1:12) Christians are called sons of God!

God has only one begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. However, God has a great number of adopted sons and daughters! Each one of us would be His adopted son or daughter! Where are God’s adopted children? Some of these adopted children are now with the Father in heaven while others are at this moment living on the earth. But whether they are in heaven or on earth, they form a single family, and there is only one Father. Are you in God’s family?

A song titled ‘A Common Love’ speaks of the love that the children in God’s family have for each other. When you are a part of God’s family, you are never alone. We are to help each other and pray for each other. So the next time you go to church or Sunday School, know how privileged it is to be among a large family of believers!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for making me a part of Your family when I received the Lord Jesus Christ. I am now Your child and nothing can separate me from the love of God. Thank you. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
