BOXING DAY!

Today, the 26th of December, is often called "Boxing Day". The exact origin of the term "boxing" is unclear and there are several competing theories. One has it that in the past, there were boxes that collected money and other gifts for those who were needy. Another theory is that since presents were exchanged or given during Christmas, this was the day to open the boxes. Hence, the word "boxing".

As a baby Jesus came, From His home above
He left His throne and who He was, To teach us how to love

Dear child, there is nothing wrong with buying or opening gifts. Just remember the "birthday boy" – Jesus, and give Him your heart and devotion.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gifts I have received. As I open them, I want to pray that I myself would be a gift to You, that I’d try to live a life that will please You. This is my humble request in Jesus’ name. Amen.
