SEPTEMBER 5, Ephesians 1:3

Is the letter to the Ephesians about earthly blessings? Clearly not! It is about spiritual blessings. There are some people, who besides living in this world, are citizens of another place. These are Christians who have citizenship in heaven. You see, this world to the Christians is only passing world. It is only a temporary place of sojourn as they are heaven-bound. All Christians have been given spiritual blessings.

Although Ephesians 1:3 tells us that Christians have all these spiritual blessings, do they not enjoy the earthly blessings of this present world? Christians also enjoy the blessings of this present world as much as anybody else. We walk, run and swim like others, listen to music, appreciate nature, and are glad to be alive. Are there other things in the physical world you enjoy and what are they?

Read Ephesians 1:3-14 and can you think of some spiritual blessings God gives to Christians?

Only Christians can enjoy spiritual blessings of God. If you are not a Christian, you do not have these blessings. Come and believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Repent of your sins and ask Him to forgive your sins.

Thought: With God’s blessings, I’m rich spiritually, even if I’m poor materially!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for all the spiritual blessings You give in Christ Jesus and I can enjoy them. I am never poor spiritually. I thank You in Jesus’ name, Amen.
