APRIL 7, Exodus 33:14; Matthew 28:20
Imagine Darren had done very well in his PSLE but, due to unforseen circumstances, his mother was unable to honour her promise while his father was also tied up with his job and not able to take leave to accompany him. His mother then bought Darren an air ticket, booked a guided tour with a hotel stay of 7 days in Florida and sent him off at the airport. Do you think Darren would enjoy the trip without his parents? Of course not!
God will never leave His children to fight their battles alone. He promised Moses, “My presence shall go with thee...” and it did happen. Moses experienced God’s presence throughout his 40-year-long journey to the Promised Land. God assured His people of His presence in many ways.
There was a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire at night to lead the way. Supplies of manna and all daily needs were met! It was an overwhelming task to lead two million murmuring people through the wilderness, but God was always with him giving wisdom and counsel on how to handle all the problems. Joshua succeeded Moses. He was also given the promise of God’s presence. Wherever Joshua went, God would be there with him.
Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He promised to send the Holy Spirit to comfort the Christians. Jesus was called Emmanuel,” God with us” and in His own words had said,” I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”
Do you believe that God is always with you?
Are you afraid of the dark, perhaps?
Do you feel that at times, no one is able to understand your problems?
Don’t be. God has promised that He would be with you, and take care of you. He will keep His promises!
Thought: God is always watching over me.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for promising to be with me always and comforting me whenever I am sad and disappointed. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
