APRIL 30, John 14:2-4
Let’s say you had a very good friend when you were younger – call him Luke. He was a great guy, but unfortunately, his parents decided to migrate to another country. One day, you get news that he would be coming back. How would you feel? Excited and happy, of course!
In the same way, I hope you will be happy to know Jesus is coming again. Doesn’t this promise thrill your soul? This time, Jesus is coming to bring you with Him. Where to? When? How? I am sure you are curious to know. I don’t know how, but I know Jesus will do it!
The Bible also speaks about the glorious manner in which Jesus will return. Jesus will come first to meet all His saints, who will be caught up in mid air. The event of flying bodies is known as the Rapture. He will then bring us to heaven! What is heaven like? Would we be singing hymns and choruses all day long? Would there be food to eat? Would we suffer pain? The Bible does not tell us a whole lot about heaven, but we know there would be great rejoicing in heaven for we would be so grateful to God for saving us! There would also be food – for God has said there would be celebration and joy! And I am happy to tell you – there would be no pain or suffering in heaven. Why? Because where God is would be freedom from pain and suffering!
We may not know the exact day Jesus will return but He had told us to look out for signs. The signs are the prevalence of evil in the world, and the falling away of many churches. All these events are happening now. Dear child, I am sure Jesus will come soon to bring you and me to heaven!
Jesus is coming again soon. Are you watching and waiting for the flight with Jesus? Is He the Captain of your life?
Thought: The Second Coming of Jesus’ is a Christian’s blessed hope.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I praise You for all Your promises are true. Help me to be a good child of Yours, and to live my life in a way that will please You. And thank You that Jesus is coming again for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
