What is the meaning of “praying without ceasing”? Can that be possible? Does that mean we pray all the time? Can we pray when we are sleeping? Surely that cannot be possible? If you have asked these questions, you are right – there is no way we can pray non-stop. There is no way we can pray when we are sleeping.
So what does the verse “pray without ceasing” mean? It means to have an attitude of prayer, to have this dependence on God in whatever we do, all the way. That is how we are to live our lives – to know God is in control, and to always submit to Him and His will. This would mean that, in all areas of our lives, we are to seek His will – to see what He would want us to do. If we really live a life like that, we would be very blessed. We would be 100% sure that God would be with us. Is that possible? Yes, but it will not be easy.
Dear child, pray that the Lord will first grant you the willingness to depend on Him, and then it would be natural to pray more often.
