NOVEMBER 21, Psalm 89:11; 2 Corinthians 9:7
Samantha is a cheerful giver. When she heard that her little nephew was ill, she visited him in hospital and bought him a Bible storybook to read. On Missions Sunday, when she heard about the needs of missionaries and their mission work, she put a good sum of money into the offering bag. She even bought an extra gospel CD to give away to her classmate because she wanted her classmate to hear the gospel.
Samantha had learnt from the Bible that all that she has comes from the God. She also learnt from the Bible that God loves a cheerful giver. God had provided for all of Samantha’s needs. Samantha was thankful and grateful to God for providing for her needs. She was also thankful that God enabled her to be a cheerful giver, supporting God’s work and giving to others in need.
Samantha is also faithful in giving her tithes to the Lord.
Do you know what happens to the tithes collected during the offering on Sunday? Here are some examples what it is used for.
1. It is used to pay for the utility bills of the church.
2. It is used to support the pastors and the people who work in church.
3. It is used to pay for the activities and events in church.
4. It is used to support missions and missionaries.
Thought: Am I a cheerful giver?
Prayer: Heavenly Father help me to give cheerfully and willingly. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
