FAITH IN GOD

OCTOBER 30, Genesis 50:22-26

What were the last days of Joseph like? Holy Scripture tells us that Joseph lived to a good old age of 110.

Then the day came when the Lord called him home. All men will die. Some will receive eternal life. Those who do not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ will be condemned to eternal death. It is important to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as He is the only Saviour of mankind, to save us from our sins and give us eternal life. Are you in the Lord Jesus Christ? Nothing is as important as believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. Our precious souls will end up in hell if we do not have a saviour in the Lord Jesus Christ, who loved us and died on the cross for our sins.

Joseph knew that he was dying and prophesied about the last days of the children of Israel concerning their stay in Egypt. He said that God would surely visit them and bring them out of Egypt, back to Canaan, the land which God gave to their forefathers. This prophecy came true 430 years later when Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt.

Joseph also made the children of Israel take an oath to carry his bones out of Egypt when God deliver them out of Egypt. This is an act of faith in God. When God said that the children of Israel would leave Egypt, Joseph believed. Hundreds of years later, the children of Israel, led by Moses, in true obedience, took Joseph’s bones out of Egypt and brought them to Canaan (Exodus 13:19).

Hebrews 11: 6 teaches us how to please God. Joseph had faith in God and this pleased God. Memorize it and fill in the blanks.

“But without __________, it is impossible to please him: for he that __________ to God must believe that he is, and that he is a __________ of them that diligently __________ him.”

Thought: Faith is the victory that conquers the world.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, teach me to have faith in Thee and trust Thee always. I know my faith in You may waver sometimes and often, I trust in myself more than in Thee. Give me the wisdom not to trust myself, but the courage to trust Thee. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
