DECEMBER 10, 1 Peter 5:7, Judges 6:16
Read Judges 6:16 again. The LORD said to Gideon: “Surely I will be with thee.” - This was the second time the LORD promised to be with Gideon; the first time was in Judges 6:12. It did not matter that Gideon’s family had no money and Gideon was a nobody in his own family. The LORD Almighty had promised to help him.
Sometimes we cannot fulfill what we say we will do. Perhaps you had promised to play with your friend one Saturday. But unfortunately, you could not keep your promise because it rained heavily that day or Dad required you to help with something urgent at home. However, things like these will not happen to God. We can trust God to do what He says because God is the highest authority (power) over everyone and everything. Therefore, when the Lord told Gideon He would be with him, that was such a wonderful and powerful promise.
Are there times when you are afraid? Perhaps the darkness of the night frightens you? Or the ferocious lightning and thunder on stormy days? Or the fear of losing grandma or grandpa who is very ill? Do not be afraid. God has also promised that we may cast all our burdens and cares to Him, and He will carry us through all tough times.
The Lord promised to be with the following persons:

l. As I was with Moses, I will be with thee: I will not forsake thee - __________
2. Go and teach all nations, I am with you always - __________
3. The Lord told him to go and live with his son in Egypt - __________
4. He dreamt of a ladder reaching up to Heaven - _________
Thought: God always does what He says.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the reminder that You are with me and that I can cast all my cares and worries to You. Teach me to trust You more, and to commit all my problems and fears to You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
