DECEMBER 13, Judges 6:27-28
Despite being given a dangerous task, Gideon obeyed the LORD and took it on. He was afraid of his father and the men from the city. They would surely be very angry if they knew what Gideon planned to do to their precious idol Baal. In the dark of the night, Gideon took ten of his servants to do all that the LORD had commanded.
The next morning, the men in the city saw their idol, Baal, thrown down and the grove of trees cut. They also saw a new altar built with the bullock offered upon it. How do you think they felt?
Dear reader it is always good to obey the Lord. But it is not always easy. People, even friends and family might be angry with you. You may be scared and lack the courage to obey God. But when you do obey, there is peace in your heart. What happens when you do not obey? You would feel sorry that you have not pleased God, who loves you. For God has blessed you with many good things. He will give you courage. Trust Him!
Tick the things that show obedience to God.

( ) Gave thanks for my food in school, even though the other children did not.
( ) Prayed and read the Bible before I went out to play. Invited my neighbour to Sunday School.
( ) After so many computer games, my eyes were too tired to read the Bible.
( ) Told my friends the Lord Jesus can forgive their sins and save them.

Thought: It is always right to obey God, no matter what.
Prayer:
“ Heavenly Father, please give me the strength and courage to obey You always. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
