DECEMBER 15, Judges 6:33-35
The enemies of the Israelites gathered together in the Valley of Jezreel. They included the Midianites, the Amalekites and all the children of the east who joined forces to attack the Israelites.
Gideon needed great courage. He was up against a strong army which numbered many. God, once again, did not desert Gideon. The spirit of God was with Gideon (v34). He blew a loud trumpet and sent messengers to gather the people together from all around. The soldiers turned up. Who do you think has the power to move them?
We need strong and courageous leaders like Gideon who was filled with the Holy Spirit. But can you imagine the situation where people refused to come when Gideon called them? Or the messengers were too lazy and could not be bothered to go call the people? In your family, school and church, it takes teamwork to achieve things doesn’t it? Every Christian has a part to play, however big or small, in doing God’s work. Are you doing your part for the LORD? Are you a good soldier of the Lord? Do you support activities of your Sunday School or Junior Worship?
Write down 2 things at home and in church that you can do for the Lord:

Church: ______________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________
Thought: May I be a good soldier for God!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me remember to do Your bidding. That means I am to serve You wherever I am, whether at home, at school, or at play. Help me keep this in my heart all the time. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
