DECEMBER 25, Luke 2:8-11
Singapore is a shopping paradise. Especially when Christmas is just around the corner, shopping can reach dizzying heights. For many shopping malls, particularly those along Orchard Road, Christmas sales are a major event for them.
The weekend leading up to Christmas is usually the busiest; you get everybody rushing to buy their last minute gifts. It’s nice to give gifts to loved ones to show our appreciation!
In the frenzy over Christmas, we sometimes forget that the greatest gift has already been given. What is that greatest gift? It is the Lord Jesus! Thanks to the many misleading images on Christmas cards or advertisements, many of us tend to think that Jesus was born in a beautiful manger with sparkling clean surroundings. Have you been to a manger? What is a manger? It is where animals feed and live. And those of us who keep pets know animals are usually not clean. In fact, mangers are usually very dirty and stinky. And yet, God the Father allowed His Son Jesus to be born in that sort of an environment. More than that, Jesus came to earth to suffer on the cross and die for our sins.
The Lord Jesus Christ is indeed God’s greatest gift to us.

Thought: Jesus Christ – the greatest gift of all!
Prayer: Thank You, Heavenly Father for sending the Lord Jesus to die on the cross for my sins. I know that I am undeserving sinner saved only by Thy grace. This I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
