OCTOBER 8, Genesis 5:18, 22-24
Is death inevitable for all humans? Interestingly, the answer is “No”. Today’s passage tells us that Enoch did not experience death! We do not know how “God took him”, but we know that Enoch was a righteous man. In fact, he was so godly that God gave him that very rare honour of not seeing death. There is another man in the Bible who did not experience death. Do you know who that is?
Although we may not be able to experience what Enoch did as he was “taken away” by God, but we can experience his closeness with God. How? One way is to have meaningful Quiet Time, plan your time to read and understand the Bible daily. But that is not all. Knowing about God is not closeness with God. We have to know God Himself, not know about Him. We must have a personal relationship with God.
Dear reader, what kind of a child do you think Enoch had been? He was a good child who had placed his trust and faith in God. Be like Enoch.
