What is evolution? Evolution is a theory used by man to explain the origin of the universe, the earth and all living things including human beings (man). According to the theory, the universe had always been in existence by itself billions of years ago and the earth that we lived in today was formed over 4.5 billion years ago. The theory further explained that living things existed and changed over million years ago due to mass extinction, cross breeding and evolvement or mutation process. Humans too came into existence 300,000 years ago through the same process. All this had happened without any divine intervention. Do you believe in evolution?

Is this universe really self-sufficient and did it come into existence on its own without God’s intervention? The Bible tells us “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). How do we know this is true? As Christians we know that the Bible is the inspired written Word of God. This means the Bible is God’s Word. The God in the Bible is a true and living God. He is a perfect God who will not lie and cannot lie. The Bible clearly recorded in Genesis 1:31 that God took 6 days to complete His creation according to His sovereign will and plan.

God created this universe, the earth, all living things and man by just speaking the word, “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light” (Genesis 1:3). Evolution is a lie because it is a man-made theory used to deny God’s existence and all His creation works. We understand from the Bible that human beings did not evolved from apes because “God created man in his own image” (Genesis 1:27). Do you believe the Bible? Pray for God’s Holy Spirit to guide you to see what is true and what is a lie
