OCTOBER 27, Luke 1:57-63
The priest Zacharias and his wife Elisabeth loved the Lord and obeyed His commandments. They were both very old when the Lord blessed them with a special son, and they were told by an angel to name him John. Even while John was in his mother’s womb, he was filled with the Holy Ghost (Luke 1:15). His work was to prepare the way of the Lord Jesus (Luke 1:76). “And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit...” (Luke 1:80).
Would you grow up to be a godly person? Would you remain faithful to Jesus? Would you continue to attend church and other activities that would help you learn more and love more of the Bible? May you and I learn from John the Baptist. He was a faithful child and remained close to God all the days of his life. Do you know that God already has a plan for you from the time you are in your mummy’s tummy? He knows everything about you and had planned out every part of your life. Let us learn from John’s life to know that God has a plan for each and everyone of us to do His work. But before you could do His work, you must first come know Jesus Christ and accept Him as your personal Lord and Saviour.
Dear children, repent of your sins today. Ask Jesus for forgiveness and He will cleanse and wash away your sins. Make a wise decision today for tomorrow may be too late.
Have you? Make a wise decision...
Thought: To be godly, I need to obey what the Bible says.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me to keep close to You and to grow up to be a godly person. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
