MARCH 31, 2 Peter 3:18

The Lord is coming, and He is going to see how you have lived your life. Will the way you live be approved, and commended by Him? To win His acceptance and praise, you must be diligent in living a holy life now.

We must grow in two ways — in grace, and in the knowledge of Jesus. These two are interlinked. The more we know about Jesus, the more we will know how wonderful God is, and the more we will know how to live our lives. It is only when we can have more grace together with a higher level of spiritual understanding of the Word that we can mature as believers.

We cannot grow in knowledge alone, because this would be just head knowledge without applying what we know of the Bible in our lives. At the same time, we cannot live a strong Christian life without knowing more of God’s Word. So as Peter ends his epistle, he gives us useful instructions that our faith has to be practical and based on the growing knowledge of God’s Word applied in our lives! How wonderful if we can know more of the Bible and live out more of the Bible!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I want to grow in the grace and knowledge of You, and if I do that, I know I will be more loving, more prayerful and joyful. In other words, I will be more like Jesus every day! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
