FEBRUARY 7, John 10:11

Jesus Christ is called the Good Shepherd because He is the One who sacrificed His life for us. He is good and He desires the best for us. He is waiting for us the whole day, from the moment you wake up to get ready for school until bedtime at night. At the same time, He is always there when trouble comes your way. So turn to Him! The problem is – many of us do not turn to Him.

Sheep are social animals that gather in flocks but sometimes they may wander off on their own and get lost. They may venture into rocky places, fall into a crevice where they are unable to come out. The shepherd keeps count of his sheep. When he realises that there are missing ones, he will go out to look for them. The lost sheep can be located because of their loud bleating. When the shepherd finds his lost sheep in a crevice, he will use the hooked end of his staff to pull them out of the crevice. A good shepherd will always care for his sheep. The Lord Jesus Christ who is our Good Shepherd cares for us and loves us. He gave His life to save us from our sins.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am so thankful that I have a Good Shepherd like Jesus. It is so wonderful to be assured of that. I seek to follow Jesus every day of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
