OUR DUTY TO SHARE THE GOSPEL!

MAY 26, Romans 10:14

“So, that’s what I’ve been wanting to tell you,” finished Joe. For a long time he’d been trying to find courage to witness to his friend. “Ever since I became a Christian at camp, I wanted to tell you, but I never knew how to bring it up.”

“Since it’s so important to you, you should have told me, your best friend, about it sooner,” said Mike. Joe blushed. “I should have,” he admitted. Mike patted him on the shoulder. “Well, I’m glad you finally did. I’ve been wondering about God lately. Maybe you can answer some of my questions.”

“Sure!” Joe felt a sense of relief, and the boys talked more about Jesus and His love for everyone. Before the evening ended, to Joe’s amazement, Mike asked Jesus to be his Saviour! “I’m sorry I waited so long to tell you about Jesus,” Joe apologised, “but I sure am glad you’re a Christian now, Mike.”

“Me, too!” Mike grinned at his friend as he looked at his watch. “Well, I’ve got to go home. You remember we’re going to Bali tomorrow and the family has to wake up very early to go to the airport! I’m really looking forward to it!” With those words, the two boys parted as they both looked forward to the one-month school break.

That very night, Joe prayed to the Lord and sought His forgiveness for his procrastination in sharing the Gospel with his friend, Mike. Joe thanked the Lord for giving him the courage to finally share the Gospel with Mike and expressed joy over Mike’s salvation. He also resolved before the Lord to take every opportunity to share the Gospel with others so that they could be saved.

Thought: Have you been faithful in sharing the Gospel with others?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me of my responsibility to share the Gospel with the unsaved. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
