JESUS CHRIST IS LORD

MARCH 12, Philippians 2:6-11

Yesterday, we saw Jesus as the humble servant and suffering Saviour. Today we will look at the exaltation of Jesus Christ. Jesus has finished his work of salvation at the cross. He was crucified, died and was buried. Jesus rose the third day and is now gloriously seated at the right hand of God the Heavenly Father. No longer must we think of our Saviour as the lowly and suffering man of sorrows.

Jesus is living today. Yet many people are still rejecting Him. The time will come when every creature in heaven, on earth and under the earth must bow in worship of Jesus whose name is above all names. Jesus shall return as the King of kings and the Lord of lords. The whole world will proclaim that Jesus is Lord!

Children, be prepared. For the signs of Jesus’ return are already showing up. This time, Jesus will no longer come as a servant but will come as the Judge. Each of us will have to give Him an account of our life. What have we done for the Lord?

Study the lyrics of this hymn and be reminded of the urgency to serve God:

1. I wonder, have I done my best for Jesus,
Who died upon the cruel tree?
To think of His great sacrifice at Calvary!
I know my Lord expects the best from me.

2. The hours that I have wasted are so many,
    The hours I’ve spent for Christ so few;
Because of all my lack of love for Jesus,
I wonder if His heart is breaking too.

Chorus:
How many are the lost that I have lifted?
How many are the chained I’ve helped to free?
I wonder, have I done my best for Jesus,
When He has done so much for me?

Thought: Jesus has done so much for me what can I do for Him?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, may Thou be the Lord of my life always. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
