DOING THE RIGHT DEEDS

MARCH 28, Philippians 4:9

What are the right deeds Christians ought to do? First, they must be right in the eyes of God. He is the perfect judge. His standard is absolute. In other words, the deeds must please God.

Left to the judgement of man, there will be many opinions on what is right. Every man would consider his own actions as right.

Apostle Paul told Christians to do all those deeds that they had learned, received, heard and seen in him. This is on the basis that he had done all those deeds according to God’s will. Just like the prophets of old, Apostle Paul is only a messenger of God. (2 Peter 1:20 & 21) He did not do deeds that are right only in his own eyes.

For us to be able to do the right deeds, our heart must be right with God. God’s direction for us are all written in the Bible, which is truly the instruction manual for Christians.

Do you know why Paul was so concerned that we should think and act rightly? Link each word to form a path and show the direction with an arrow head:

(Clue: Sow a thought, reap an action)

Thought: Let the word of God dwell richly in us.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me read the Bible daily and do righteous deeds like Jesus. It may be tough in the beginning but the more I do, the easier it will become. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
