PAUL: HIS LETTER TO THE GALATIANS
 
Paul’s important contributions to the New Testament church were his epistles. During his first missionary journey, Paul travelled to the province of Galatia, preaching in Antioch of Pisidia, Iconium, Lystra, and Derbe. Later, with Barnabas, he revisited Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch before returning to Antioch of Syria, the church that sent them forth. It was during these visits that Paul discovered how quickly his teachings were being distorted by the Judaisers. Without delay, he wrote a letter to the Galatians, exposing the errors and calling them back to the truth of the Gospel.
 
O, how easily can man be deceived by the lies of the enemy! How swiftly we embrace falsehood without hesitation. How gullible we are to accept error without pausing to discern whether it is right or wrong. We swallow deception whole, unaware that it leads to death. How prone are we to follow the principles of the wicked rather than remain stedfast in the teachings of the righteous. How inclined are we to walk the path of destruction rather than the way of life.
 
Is it because we are far from the light that we cannot distinguish good from evil? Is it because we are deaf to the Word of God that we fail to recognise His voice? Is it because our hearts are hardened, unable to sense the heartbeat of our Saviour and His instructions? Or perhaps some remain blinded, still depraved, unable to discern the way that leads to heaven and the way that leads to hell.
 
Beloved brethren, we shall see clearly if we walk in the light that shows us the right way. Though we may stumble, we can rise again and continue onward. We will remain on the right path when we continually hear the voice of the Shepherd, guiding us in His truth. We will enter the straight and narrow way that leads to life if we stedfastly rely on the guide map God has given us: His perfectly inspired and preserved Word. There is no other truth than what Scripture declares. It is our lamp, our voice of guidance, and our map to the way of the Lord Jesus Christ.
 
THOUGHT: Am I reading my Bible daily to guard myself against lies and deception?

PRAYER: Father, grant me stedfastness to remain in Thy Word.
