PROVERBS 1:7, 28-29
WANT TO BE A FOOL?
Do you want to be a fool? If yes, don’t read the following. If no, please continue!
Have you been on a hike in the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve? It is only about 80 hectares in area, though very small compared to those in America, Australia or even Malaysia, it is the largest in Singapore. The paths to the top meander along the slopes and you can get lost easily if you are not familiar with them. You would need a guide. If you are on a school trip, your teachers would have checked out the place and studied the map before leading you and your schoolmates in the hike. therefore, it is important that you follow closely all the instructions. Otherwise you may lose your way or fall down some slippery slopes.
God is our best guide in life because He created us and all things. He knows everything about everything. God wants us to take the path laid out in His Holy Word. There are instructions and commandments for us in His Book – the Bible. They will guide us and lead us safely in the way we should go. Just like a hiker, we must pay attention to instructions of the guide and do as instructed.
What do you think will happen to people who do not believe in the Bible? The Bible tells us that these people have chosen not to fear God and have rejected wisdom. ey are called fools. So, when they get into trouble, God will not answer their call for help. Children, love and treasure the Word of God. God will direct your path and keep you safe from destruction. Love godly instructions.
How does the Bible guide you in life’s path?
The answer is in Psalm 119:105:

Thought: Only fools doubt God and hate knowledge. e wise will be wiser because they love knowledge.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, may I love y Word and grow in knowledge of Thy truth. Help me to apply this knowledge in my life, and not to be a fool. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
